2015 Teacher Impact Award

Nominate a Teacher for the 2015 Teacher Impact Award
The Homewood City Schools system has so many exceptional teachers, and the Homewood City Schools Foundation wants to recognize their accomplishments. Nominations have begun for the 2015 Teacher Impact Award. Parents, students, fellow teachers and alumni are encouraged to nominate a teacher that they feel has made a significant impact on their life or the lives of other students. One teacher will be selected from each school.
This year, nominations can be submitted online. All nominations must be postmarked or submitted by Friday, February 27, 2015 to be eligible. Award recipients will be recognized during a special presentation at Homewood Grown on April 16. Each award winner will receive $500 to go towards classroom materials or professional development.

The HMS faculty and staff cordially extend an invitation to all HMS students to honor their U.S. Armed Forces relatives, veteran or active duty. Veterans will enjoy a continental breakfast and be recognized at the U.S. Armed Forces Veterans Day Program. Breakfast will be served at 8:15am, with the program starting at 9:00am. In addition to the breakfast and program, we encourage HMS students to email a photo of their veteran(s) (attending or not) for the “Wall of Veterans” to be displayed outside the gym.

Homewood Middle School Celebrates Red Ribbon Week

On Friday, October 31st the HHS Peer Helpers will be coming over to do a drug prevention program for 6th grade students during their P.E. block. The Peer Helpers will be using classrooms on the the 6th grade hall to teach a lesson. The focus of the lesson is "Most Kids Aren't Using Alcohol and Drugs."

Homecoming Week 2014

Next week is HOMECOMING WEEK!
  • Monday- will be “Western Day” Wrangle the Pirates! Wear your best boot scootin' gear. Cowboy up!
  • Tuesday- will be “Wacky Tacky Day” Confuse the Pirates! Find the strangest combination of clothes in your closet.
  • Wednesday- will be “Character Day” Make the Pirates Star-Struck! Dress like your favorite character from a movie, book, play, comic book, etc.
  • Thursday- will be “Patriot Pride!” Scare the Pirates with our Unity! Wear your homecoming shirts, Patriot gear, and school colors!!
  • Friday- will be “Pajama Day!” Put the Pirates to Sleep! Wear your pajama pants and comfy shirts, but PLEASE stay in dress code!!!
